Apparently oblivious to the across the board objection that US citizens had to the marches across the US in which illegal immigrants and their supporters shouting Si se puede (Yes we can) and waving mostly Mexican flags, the Obama campaign has decided to take the rally cry into the campaign. Apparently, the Obama campaign is comfortable with the prospect of losing many votes in the general election as Republican operatives post videos of illegal immigrants posting fences and running across highways with Obama yelling "si se puede". No doubt there will be a xenophobic undertone (or overtone) to the messages. Heck I even expect a video of an immigrant (illegal or not) criminal with an Obama "si se puede" hook.
My advice to the Obama campaign: tread very lightly here. There are numerous citizens across the political spectrum who are not going to appreciate this move. There better be some strong strong strong language directed at businesses that exploit immigrant labour. Did I mention strong?
