One point here. He was talking about how blacks survived slavery and therefore should be able to do well on a test. I cannot agree. If anything, the fact that we got enslaved and participated in our enslavement shows that we had already failed the relevant tests. But to bring it to education, survival is not a sign of intelligence. A single cell organism can "survive" a harsh environment. Clearly it has no brain. Survival comes from instinct. Doing well in an advanced society often requires suppressing instincts. Now personally, I use slavery as a means of inspiration for physical activity. I run that race at that pace 'cause it's not hard to run 13 miles when my people were out in the hot fields from can't see to can't see.
