Members of Renisha McBride’s family said they believe the African-American woman was racially profiled by the homeowner. They said McBride, whose cell phone had died, had gone up to the house on Outer Drive seeking help after she was involved in an auto accident early Saturday morning. They say McBride was shot in the back of the head with a shotgun as she turned to leave. [My emphasis]Shooting at someone in the back, particularly if they have not entered your home or threatened you in a credible manner is murder. The castle doctrine does not apply here. There is no reason for this man to not be in jail right now. If he was THAT nervous about someone knocking at his door in the early morning he should not have answered and called the police, or spoke through the door after checking the window. This man came to the door, locked and loaded. That means intent to shoot. He should be in jail.
