As much as I want to avoid KRS, I still have to give the man credit for some amazing quotables. I used to be a borderline obsessed fan of his growing up. I parted ways with him around 'Return of the Boom Bap'- when I had a chance to interview him for my college radio show. Since I respected him so much, I got one of my friends on the college paper to conduct the interview- another fan. His advanced journalism skills helped to expose Kris' 'hip-hop conversion' as an egotistical, hypocritical ploy. I am referring to his constant bashing of 5-Percenter dogma through-out his earlier career, and then a sudden complete flip in the opposite direction and referring to himself as the 'God of Hip-Hop'.

Haven't bought another album of his since that day... but I still love his pure sound. He became just another 'rapper' to me after that. No longer my 'hero'.

Yeah I admit that KRIS has his issues. No argument there. But honestly if I had to choose between listening to him vs. regular rotation on Hot 97 in NYC. I'd choose KRS.
