So being the Garveyite that I am, my position is that equality comes when you do what everybody else does (more or less). Not from when you beg for people to like you and whatnot. Garvey asked: "Where are your men of big affairs?"
He answered with the Black Star Line company that wasn't just steamships, which were purchased, but they had other ventures. The bottom line being you cannot be independent and equal until you do for self. Bottom to top. To this end I present Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Co. out of Nigeria:
Now they need to get into manufacturing (and designing) their own engines but I'm not going to knock that right now because what they ARE doing is a step in the right direction. Yes, it is very primitive compare to the Teslas, Fords and Honda factories, but the important part is they are taking the right steps.
I would say that they should look into electric vehicles particularly given the abundant sunshine that Africa gets . Yes there are issues of power generation in Nigeria (and all over) but if minds can get together (rather than go to America and Europe), these problems can be addressed.
Anyway. Good job!
Tomorrow we highlight another company.
