Don't Be Tim Carman

At this point of the COVID game if you:
 1) Still trust the media.
2) Are not taking readily available vitamins and supplements.

You are either a willing sheeple or a total fool. For months I, among others have laid out the data on masks, actual infection to death ratios, lockdowns, risk factors and things you can do, that don't involve masks or xenophobic actions. But some people still trust the state [agents] and think anyone with an official title or badge must know everything and that they should do what they are told. This will have dire consequences for some. Here Tim Carman shows what you shouldn't be doing.

The cough began in earnest on Nov. 10, a Tuesday. It was a dry hack, and it got worse as the day progressed. I went to bed early and awoke the next morning feeling as if I had been hit by a truck and left for dead by the side of the road. My fever was nearly 103 degrees, and I didn’t want to move.

Anyone notice what Tim didn't do?

I do believe in it. I studiously tried to avoid it. I wore a mask everywhere I went. With the exception of two visits back in June, I didn’t dine indoors. When I ate outdoors, I made sure to cover my face whenever I interacted with people. If I walked into a retail store, I followed two more rules: Don’t stay long, and don’t enter if it’s crowded.

So Tim is telling us that although he wore a mask, as instructed, he still got sick.  Tim is also telling us that he avoided going into enclosed places for long and avoided crowds.

He still got sick though.

And yet Tim isn't bright enough to ask some basic questions after this big fail. A bright person would say: Wait a minute THEY said if I do this then...

The Ghost recommended no such behavior. The Ghost doesn't wear a mask in public outdoor places. Period. The Ghost wears masks indoors for two reasons: respect the business owner's wishes. It's a medical facility and it's a damn good idea. Otherwise, the Ghost has REGULARLY been in enclosed places for 10 hours at a time. Including events that would be considered "crowded".

The Ghost is fine.  Thank you.  Is it because I know something you do not? Maybe. I'll note that like anything else in life, some things are simply the luck of the draw. Sometimes despite whatever you do you get hit. You accept that as a part of life and move on. Articles shouldn't be written about it and usually aren't. But these are not usual times.

We are just entering the maw of this monster. Many more will get chewed up by this.

"We"?

Look at this language. The language of fear. This is the new America folks. The home of the brave is now land of the scared as fuck.

and part a staggering level of denial about a virus that does not give a flip about your family get-togethers.

No, we are NOT in denial. We know the risks and we accept them. Me personally I don't like flying at all. It's not the actual flying part, but the security theater. I don't like being searched and I don't like for my belongings to be searched.

When I first suspected I had covid — a good two days before the diagnosis arrived — I never let myself entertain any worst-case scenarios. I simply couldn’t imagine that I might be among the minority of people who get more than flu-like symptoms, even though I’m in my late 50s, slightly overweight and have bad allergies that sometimes trigger asthma. My lungs were an easy target.

*Sigh* Where to start.

First off, The Ghost has said that one should ASSUME that everytime you leave your abode that you WILL or HAVE come into contact with someone who is sick.  That is you should assume that every time you are out you have been infected. Why? Because that's how nature works. Every hour of the day, bacteria and viruses try to make you their host. 99% of the time your immune system deals with it via various means. You know that runny nose that "just happens"? Yup, you got infected with something. That runny nose is likely interferon laced and is killing a virus.  That diarrhea out of nowhere for that one bowel movement? Yup. Body just took care of some bacteria.

So COVID is just another virus trying to make a home.  But this guy takes it to another level with his ignorance. He is overweight AND has asthma. Asthma is an inflammatory disease of the respiratory system. You would think that someone who has a history of respiratory inflammation would take ANY signs of a respiratory disease extremely seriously. "Not entertaining" worst case scenarios in this case is just stupid. Don't be stupid.

Here's the kicker:

I drank mostly water and orange juice for two weeks.

You did what?

Look. This is why people are falling over (dying). First they aren't taking vit D and Zinc at a minimum regularly even though there is plenty of medical literature that points to these two items being highly effective against COVID in particular and respiratory viruses in general.  You wouldn't know this from following the media (See opening paragraph).

But worse, after getting the diagnosis Tim says NOTHING about taking anything other than water and orange juice.  People, do NOT me Tim. If you get a diagnosis, you get  some relatively high dose Vit D (assuming you haven't already been taking some or getting a lot of direct sunlight). Get some relatively high dose of Zinc. Get some Quercetin. and take that stuff twice a day for around 5 days.  This is MOST of the known standard care so don't trust me, trust people who you'll meet in the hospital if you are like Tim.

The rest of the piece is a horror show script meant to scare you to death and mask up and be scared to go into stores even though at the outset Tim shows that none of that helped him. There is NOTHING at all about treatment. Not a damn thing. He went and got a pulse oximeter. OK. The Ghost isn't waiting for the lungs to get damaged.

Don't  be Tim. Get the items I listed. Take them regularly starting TODAY if you haven't been. Don't let these medical professionals send you home with a "take an Asprin and come back if you get worse" shtyk.  Follow that link above and get on as much of that stuff as possible as SOON as you get that diagnosis (much of which you should already be taking) and hopefully you avoid most of the drama Tim went through. No guarantees of course but the studies show that your outcome will be much better than "water and orange juice"

The Theory Is No Longer A Conspiracy

Possibly the most important video you will watch during this fear-demic:

50% v 2%

Vitamin D reduces the probability of hospitalization from 50% to 2%. Reduced deaths 100%.

3x the rate of virus clearance vs. placebo.

Oh.

But masks, lockdowns and fast-tracked vaccines.

OK.

Making New Enemies

So word on these streets is that white people run everything, are responsible for everything and everybody non-white is a victim of white supremacy and have no agency whatsoever and no responsibility for their personal actions and conditions.

Holy run-on sentence Batman!

Anyway. Yeah. So that's the word on the street. Now those of us who have been paying attention have noticed that there is a non-white population doing quite well under this white supremacy. These non-whites often DON'T EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH as their first or second language. Who are these folks? East Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, etc) and to a [little] lesser extent South Asians (Indians, not feather).

Some time ago I warned black folks that the upcoming groups will not be susceptible to the whole slavery and Jim Crow guilt trip that is super kryptonite to white folks. While white folks will damn near cut out their own tongue lest they say something racist. And while white folks will shamelessly disown thier own flesh and blood lest that kin say something "racist". These Chinese don't give a shit. And Indians with their caste system ALREADY think your black behind belong at the bottom.

Right now these groups are distracted by the common enemy that is the straight white male. But I've warned black folks that they will eventually turn their attention to the group of people who they have had long-standing issues with (crime for example). Currently the issue is flaring up in education. But trust and believe it will go further.

Progressives all across America have declared war on Asians, meritocracy, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). Recently, the San Francisco Unified School District voted to replace their merit admissions process at Lowell High School, one of the best high schools in America and also happens to be 61% Asian, with a lottery-based system.

If you watch children play a game you can tell what kind of personality they have (or level of maturity) by how they take losses. You can also tell the quality of parenting on how they react to how a child reacts to losing.

MAny children will complain "it's not fair". They do not yet understand that they do not have the skills to beat the superior player [yet].  I remember a lifetime ago playing a video game, Need for Speed, with a child in my care. Of course I constantly beat him at the game. He eventually started  crying. So I stopped and asked why he was crying. It was because he "always lost". So I said well maybe if you practiced more then you'll win. In other words, I didn't stop playing well, which would have made him happy. Instead I wanted him to learn that if he wants to WIN he must LEARN TO MASTER THE GAME. Crying about losing will not master the game.

And so we come back to this "war on Asians". This is child level temper tantrum. Instead of hitting the books and organizing study sessions, these parents are crying about how they lose.

Boo hoo.

Look at this nonsense:

One African-American parent stated it’s because of Asians hogging up all the spaces “Black people can’t catch up technologically because the ‘stupid Asians’ are keeping black people down out of fear they’d be overtaken.”[My underlines]

Just how STUPID do you have to be to state that STUPID Asians who have aced the entrance exams are "keeping black people down"?

Do I even have to explain it?

And I thought it was white folks keeping us down? I must be getting old and not able to keep up with who's on top anymore.

When one angry Asian-American parent responded “Trust me, you’ll never catch up. If you need to lower-standards to get in, you’ll never beat us,” a near physical fight broke loose.

The dog that yelp is the one that get lick.

"Another Asian parent screamed, “First you blame white people, now you blame us!? Grow up! Study harder or go home!”

And winner by knock out in the first round: "Asian Parent"

You want to know why Bill Cosby is in Jail? It's because he pointed this same thing out and a black comedian took offense and decided to air long buried dirty laundry. I pointed out how other black immigrants outperform African-Americans because they value the opportunities presented to them:

at Mission Vista one Friday, Ms. Osman's son, Abdullahi Osman, 15, sat at home at the dining table, homework assignments and an English-Somali dictionary in his lap...Until I finish my education, I don't want to do anything else," said Abdullahi, who dreams of becoming a doctor. He said that books were his most valued possessions, though he checks them out of the public library. ...Hamadi, who goes to school and helps his brother at his job at a Boston Market restaurant, said of his new life, "I don't have time for watching TV"

Yes, that's what it takes to beat the Asians. If you're not up to it then don't complain. Back to the original linked piece though:

Around the same time parents at TJ found out race-blind tests were eliminated, members of the Boston Public School system in Massachusetts announced they were going to eliminate academic exams to the school district’s top three schools, including O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science.

Boston school officials argued that STEM school’s racial demographics are “too white and too Asian and they’re both meeting or exceeding expectations at higher rates” than Black and Hispanic students and that’s not fair. The Boston Public School system calls their new plan “racial equity planning tool.”

So the Black and Hispanic (which can be of any race) group in the SAME SCHOOL failed to meet or exceed expectations and the reason is because there were too many White and Asian students present?  What was it that some Judge said in 1954?

"To separate [black children] from others of similar age and qualifications solely because of their race generates a feeling of inferiority as to their status in the community that may affect their hearts and minds in a way unlikely to ever be undone."

So wait, I thought being able to sit next to white students would magically make black students perform since their self-esteem would be bolstered by all these white people.

Which is it people?  Oh wait, you just can't have TOOO Many white students and we didn't think of the non-white Asian students. They didn't count.

One bitter first-generation Asian-American parent vindictively stated, “On a brighter note, I know China, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore will completely destroy American companies when my children are my age because of these stupid policies. That gives me comfort. These idiotic Democrats will guarantee Asians will win—just not Asian-Americans….maybe we should go work for Asian-owned companies instead of giving our minds to Apple or Intel.”

She's not wrong. A LOT of commentators have been saying for years now that the US, having gone completely nuts and is no longer a serious country (can't even do elections properly anymore),  is going to be passed over by countries where the leadership:

1) Doesn't hate half the population

2) Doesn't think it's citizens should be replaced by foreigners.

3) Expects and rewards excellence and high standards rather than silly race and gender-based outcome determinate social and economic policies.

So don't get mad at Asians for performing. Get mad that you allow your kids to sit in front of TV sets rather than reading or doing something creative with their time. And you don't have to be a genius to help your kids perform.  And for goodness sake STOP allowing your kids to develop victim mentalities. As Garvey seh:

What other men have done you can do also!

And I will add:

It may take a whole lotta work.

Music

So those who know my other blog that I run, know that I'm in training for a half marathon in March, provided it's not cancelled again. Due to Corona "guidelines" the rules for being in a gym mean that I cannot run on treadmills. That means that I'm running outside...in the dark. I don't like doing that given the fact that people in cars, who are already distracted by their phones, have an even lesser chance of seeing me running into an intersection at 8-9 MPH. Even with a vest of flashing lights.

Anyway, most of these runs are what are called "Maffetone" runs. That is I need to not go over a particular heart rate. I've been at it for about a year now and have become very aware of what can send your heart rate skyrocketing. Phone buzzes can result in 2-5 BPM rise.  Thinking about a race you did or are going to do can also result in a 2-10 BPM rise. And listening to hype music will do all kinds of things to your heart rate.

So to combat the latter I have sometimes had to resort to listening to "slow jams". Yeah I could run with no music but I'm not that type. So now I'm running at night, with slow jams on to keep the heart rate in check when I hear:

Funny thing. When I first got into music as a youth, I was absolutely stuck on Doo-Wop. To the extent that in JHS  few boys and I taught ourselves George Benson's "On Broadway" and did it doo wop style. No, I was never really that good a singer. Not that I cannot find and hold a note. It's that I didn't have that thing that separates "holding notes" from "oh he's good".

It's actually a metaphor for my life. I've usually been good at things. Enough to be better than average BUT never quite at the  "elite" level.  Better than most but there are a lot who are better.

*shrug*

This song was sampled by the Fugees and featured in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager.

One of the things I love about these older songs is that due to the morality of the time, you simply could not put out a record, for public broadcasting anyway, that directly talked about your parts and what you're going to do with them or want to have done to them. So "set the mood" music was "suggestive" and more, shall we say "courtly". Mind you I am well aware of music of that time, and earlier that was MORE suggestive than the example above, but still.

Anyway, thought I'd take a break from the politics and COVID. If you're a parent reading this, put on the speakers and let your kids hear the music your parents probably listened to when they were making you...or would that be your grandparents? You know you're getting old when you have to consider that.

Vit D, Zinc and Vit C. Don't Believe Me, Believe the Evidence

If you are a regular follower of The Ghost you know I have been recommending for ages that you:

1) Take Zinc daily.

2) Take Vit D. (or get lots of sunshine, at least 45 min for dark-skinned individuals) daily.

3) Use Quercetin, a Zinc ionophore to help Zinc get into the cells.

4) Vit C. Also daily.

You know I've posted links to actual research on these matters. So here's The FLCCC (Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance).

Quercetin, Zinc, Vit D and Vit C.

Only what I've been telling you all spring and summer. The other items I have no experience or research on so I have no commentary on that. You do that if you wish. As always, your choice and your responsibility. Personally, I do not take Quercetin at the rate described above but I do follow the day 1 and day 3 scenario, particularly if I've been somewhere where there is a high likelihood that I run into someone who is infected (and unlike others I don't blame them. I decide to go somewhere so it's MY responsibility).

It's pretty sad that rather than publicize the use of these readily available, over the counter items, the government would rather lock you away and keep you scared. The Ghost doesn't want you scared. The Ghost wants you informed and free.

Re: Effect of Pre-exposure Use of Hydroxychloroquine On COVID-19 Mortality

So the Lancet is having another go at HCQ.

"Hydroxychloroquine has been shown to inhibit entry of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) into epithelial cells in vitro, but clinical studies found no evidence of reduced mortality when treating patients with COVID-19. We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine for prevention of COVID-19 mortality, as opposed to treatment for the disease."

Well, no, we want to treat the disease before people get to the stages that lead to death, but OK.

But that's not the point. What have we been posting here for months? HCQ is a Zinc ionophore. It helps Zinc get into the cells. Zinc inhibits viral replication. So HCQ without the Zinc is not the treatment that is or has been suggested.  So let's do a search for "zinc"

Oh what's this? Not found? You don't say.

Also, for the fear mongering media:

In this population-based cohort study, which uses a database that includes around 40% of the population of England, UK, we investigated whether routine use of hydroxychloroquine before the COVID-19 outbreak (ie, pre-exposure prophylaxis) prevented COVID-19 mortality. With use of robust pharmaco-epidemiological methods, we found no evidence to support a substantial benefit of hydroxychloroquine in preventing COVID-19 mortality. At the same time, we have shown no evidence of harm. The absence of clear harms or benefits supports clinical equipoise to justify continuing randomised trials. [my underline]

"No evidence of harm"? You don't say.

All I ask is that some reputable place study the actual proposal (HCQ+Zinc in populations who have been given the treatment at the early (pre-inflammatory) stage of the disease. Is that too much to ask for?

The Federal Money Tree

So seeing Biden [and his advisors] discuss a 4-6 week shut down and now a $3.4 trillion "Hero's Act". I have to wonder if these people have any idea how money works and specifically how the government gets it's money.

Here's a breakdown of the last budget:

Out of the $3.42 trillion in revenue, income taxes, at $1.61 trillion, contributed almost half (47%). Income tax receipts were $203 billion lower than the $1.81 trillion budget estimates.

You see that revenue?  $3.42 trillion? Now read this:

“Right now, Congress should come together and pass a COVID relief package like the HEROES Act that the House passed six months ago,” Biden told a press briefing in Wilmington, Delaware.

House Democrats passed the $3.4 trillion HEROES Act in May, but it was never taken up by the Senate.

$3.4 trillion represents the entirety of last year's revenue. That's on top of this:

Congress passed a package known as the CARES Act in March that authorized more than $2 trillion for small businesses and job preservation, among other things. President Donald Trump signed the bill.

So a potential $5.4 trillion dollar hole?

It's like these people think there is a federal money tree or revenue fairy out there.

"The federal government spent $6.55 trillion in FY 2020. That's $1.76 trillion more than the $4.79 trillion budgeted...

The FY 2020 deficit was budgeted to be $1.08 trillion. Even before the pandemic, it was the largest budgeted deficit since FY 2011. "

And they want to start 2021 with a $3 trillion hole which may or may not include a 4-6 week shut down which takes out at least 1/12 govt. revenue.

The COVID Timeline And How To Protect Yourself

So I saw this online and wanted to share with the readership for their own health.

Now in the past I have suggested to the readership that they pre-emptively do things to prevent themselves from getting into the inflammatory stage of the Wuhan virus. The timeline above shows how this is effected.

Recall that I showed documentation that Zinc inhibits viral replication in the cell. Don't trust me, go read the post and go to the links yourself.

So the entire point of my posting then, and now, is that you want to blunt the replication stage which this chart refers to as the first "ambulatory period".

Even if zinc only reduced the replication by half you can see how it would help.

We also know that Vit D blunts inflammation because it regulates ACE receptors. I have a post here on it.

So rather than live in fear and locking yourself (and your children) away. Get regular doses of zinc and vit. D. It's likely. HIGHLY LIKELY you will avoid the inflammation phase altogether unless you have some underlying medical condition (known or unknown). It's also likely you'll avoid the symptom phase.

So here's the breakdown:

1) Oil of Oregano: carvacrol, is the ingredient that is an antiviral. This supplements your first line of defense which is the mucus membranes of your upper respiratory system. Using this product makes a more hostile initial environment for the virus.

2) Vit D:. "Hides" the ACE receptors so that the virus has a hard time binding to cells so that they can make entry. No entry, no replication, no.....etc.

3) In the case that the virus enters the cells, Zinc inhibits replication. If you think you've actually come into contact with an infected person, and by that I mean besides the assumption I make that any and everyone I come into contact with is infected, As in you got a call that someone you recently shared extended air time with within the last 24-48 hours is infected, you up the zinc dose and add Quercetin. As I've explained in other posts, Quercetin is a Zinc ionophore. This means it helps zinc get into the cells.

These things buy your immune system time to recognize the invader and mount a defense that does not result in the Cytokine Storm that is the real killer symptom.

So to stress here, these three suggestions are to reduce your chances of severe illness and death. obviously not everyone is going to make it.

One last thing. Drink or eat something with Turmeric and Echinacea. These are also anti-inflammatories that will help you avoid the inflammation stage.  And that's the take home lesson: AVOID the inflammation stage

Apple Beats Goes All In On Black Victimology

it seems now a days that if you're black and don't walk about complaining about what "the world" has done to you or not feeling the least bit oppressed (different than the everyday simpleton shit that everybody goes through for various reasons); that you are a shrinking minority.

So taking a break from programming, I take a look at AppleInsider and see this:

Ok.

Text:

"The campaign kicked off with a short two-minute ad spot which was published to YouTube on Thursday. There is also a corresponding Apple Music playlist featuring artists that are "speaking their truth to power."

There is no "Their truth". There are facts and there are things called "not facts". You may have an experience that is different than someone else's experience but it doesn't constitute a truth.  A female runner may speak of her experience beating a large number of men during a race but it doesn't change the fact that as a whole, men are faster than women at running.  She can "speak her truth" all day, every day and it doesn't change the facts. This is why I despise the "your truth" stuff. It isn't of much value outside of your experience.  But this is a minor pick.

"You love Black culture, but do you love me?"
This film unpacks the question.
Those who touched this piece have seen the world actively love their art or their athletic achievements, while also seeing the world continually oppress the Black community at large. Beats, the creatives, and the cast joined together with the unified goal of inspiring Black youth by highlighting the everyday beauty and rich diversity of their culture.

"The world continually oppress the Black community at large"

So Apple, via beats is all in on worldwide victimhood of black people. And apparently, black people in their suites think THIS IS GOOD SHIT.

Sorry. Language, I know, but still.

What kind of educated, informed on the world black person co-signs: "world continually oppressing the black community"?

It's more of the same black people are perpetual victims with absolutely no agency or responsibility for anything negative that happens to them.

How about this? I don't GAF if you love me.

Why are black people in 2020 still fucking approval seeking?

Sorry. Language.

"Additionally, a number of rising stars, athletes, artists, and activists make an appearance in the film, including Naomi Osaka, Bubba Wallace, Lil Baby, and Janaya Khan."

Anything missing here?

No?

Scientists? Totally missing.

Seriously. If you don't understand that our (as in black people's) continual admiration and pedestal posting of athletes and [other] entertainers as the pinnacles of black achievement are the biggest joke on us and too many of us are too stupid to realize it.

The Great Reset: Carrying Out The Plans

So last month I posted on The Great Reset.  Since the release outbreak of COVID, Western governments with the [current] exception of Sweden followed the orders of Chairman Xi and did a total about face on the principles of Western democracies and determined that citizens only have rights that the governments decide they have, WHEN these governments decide. The next thing to take on from China is the Social Credit system, where citizens are given scores based on activities and they are denied access to goods and services if their score is too low. Along with this is the "Health passport" now in effect whereby people with "questionable" health scores cannot go to work among other things.

Now one the bricks to be laid in the Great Reset is the health passport. Citizens will be denied access to goods and services unless they have the stamp of approval, currently COVID status but you'd be a total fool if you think it stops there. Now earlier mentions of this thing has been called, yes, a conspiracy theory. Well OK.

CBS LA:

Ticketmaster is working on a plan to use smart phones to verify whether customers have been vaccinated or tested for coronavirus, according to Billboard.

While the plan is still in its early phases, Billboard reports the process would involve fans using the Ticketmaster app in partnership with medical information firms and vaccine and testing distributors.

Upon buying a ticket, fans would be required to either verify their vaccination status or prove they have tested negative for coronavirus within 72 hours prior to the concert dates. Regional health authorities would determine the length of coverage for any test.

After being tested, customers would authorize a lab to share their results with a health pass company such as IBM or CLEAR, according to the report. If one of the requirements was met, the health pass company would verify that information with Ticketmaster, which would then release the tickets to the customer.

Any fan who tested positive or failed to verify vaccination status would be denied access to the event.

Oh.

Look here's how this thing goes down, at least in the US:

[Currently] The US government, including the states, are prohibited by law from forcing citizens to take things into their bodies or compel them to do things contrary to their faith or "deeply held belief". So if you want to have these things happen you outsource to private companies. So it's not The State telling you to get the vaccine, it's the private company that can legally deny you services or goods for just about any reason, or no reason at all.

The state can't censor you but Twitter, Facebook, etc. can and NO you don't have legal remedy.

So yup. Ticketmaster is simply the first mover. Other companies will follow, for your safety of course.  One domino starts the chain of events.

Was COVID-19 Created In A Lab?

This question was asked early in March. People asserting that COVID was a lab creation were labelled as conspiracy theorists (and of course "MAGAPEDES"). No, the "real" story was that it was a mutation that naturally occurred and may have gone from bat to human.  But is it really a conspiracy theory?

In short SARS-Cov2 is a respiratory virus, out of China (mutating significantly in Europe) which features high transmissibility  and survives in the air. Nobody disputes that. OK? Good?

Now lets go back to the year 2013. The Ghost, that's the blog you're reading now, posted a piece called "Scientists Create Hybrid Flu That Can Go Airborne" in which I quote the highly esteemed, science journal Nature:

A team of scientists in China has created hybrid viruses by mixing genes from H5N1 and the H1N1 strain behind the 2009 swine flu pandemic, and showed that some of the hybrids can spread through the air between guinea pigs. The results are published in Science1.

Flu hybrids can arise naturally when two viral strains infect the same cell and exchange genes. This process, known as reassortment, produced the strains responsible for at least three past flu pandemics, including the one in 2009.

A hybrid virus that was created by mixing genes from H5N1 and H1N1 that "can spread through the air".

Created in 2013.

My post continued with "concerns raised by scientific community":

They warned there is a danger that the new viral strains created by mixing bird-flu virus with human influenza could escape from the laboratory to cause a global pandemic killing millions of people....
"Escape from the laboratory and cause a global pandemic"? You don't say.

"

The record of containment in labs like this is not reassuring. They are taking it upon themselves to create human-to-human transmission of very dangerous viruses. It’s appallingly irresponsible,” he said.

"Create human-to-human transmission of very dangerous viruses"? You don't say.

Oh and by the way:

"It is unclear how the results apply to humans. Guinea pigs have bird-like receptor proteins in their upper airways in addition to mammalian ones, so reassortant viruses might bind in them more easily than they would in humans.

"Receptor proteins in the upper airways..." You don't say.

But  hey, Garvey's Ghost is peddling "conspiracy theories".

Oh in case you don't believe this was actually posted. Screen shot as of 5:40 PM today(11-11-2020).

Those Cubanos and Venzuelans in Florida

I'm still waiting for the official outcome before I do my explainer of the election. If you read my material regularly you'll know I made a prediction some time ago and soon we'll know if it becomes fact. So the reason I'm posting this is because a reader sent a note asking a question which I figure I'd answer here. In short the reader was wondering what the deal was with the Cuban and Venezuelans (and to an extend Puerto Ricans) in Florida who went for Trump in much larger numbers than 2016.

"[was] this is an anomaly powered exclusively by the personal magnetism of Trump, or if the GOP has the wherewithal to build on the bounty of minority support Trump delivered this year. Is the socialist demographic timebomb still a foregone conclusion?"

So let me say at the outset that I do not follow any Latin media at all. While I'm not averse to using Google translate, I'm not that motivated about it. I don't have latinos in my circle except for a Cubano who I work with whom we share political stuff from time to time. Generally speaking I'm a "keep your politics and religion out the f***ing office, and keep it on topic and professional" person. But for people I deem sane (that is we can disagree without being hostile and provide evidence for our positions) I'll have limited conversations with.

All that to say that I have very little first person info I can draw from that comes from that community to make a good comment. So what follows is a general 1st generation immigrant commentary sprinkled with what I gathered from my Cubano workmate.

One of the common things that I saw when I was growing up was that people from the West Indies looked down on African-Americans. Indeed many times we were discouraged from being friends with them due to the fear of bad influences. The general idea was that American blacks were lazy and did not appreciate the great deal of opportunities available to them. They were always complaining about racism, and then going about and doing dumb BS.

I don't think this attitude is or was limited to those from the West Indies. So this is the first thing in explaining Florida. These immigrants and their first generation know about hard times and WHAT kind of system of governing made their countries "shit holes". They don't want to live with that HERE in America. You don't want that either but some of you are going to learn that the hard way.

The BLM -Antifa connection

Again, the idea of street mobs using violence to get their way, many immigrants are very familiar with this kind of stuff and it rarely ends well in their home country. The burning and looting? That's not the America these people came to take a part in. That Democrats embraced these things made the choice to vote for. Trump easy.

At the same time you have to recognize the numbers of Latinos who voted Dem. Why? Having not seen the returns, I can only guess, but I'd say that a large percentage of those persons are 2nd gen who only heard stories of what happened back in the "old country' and so just don't know how bad it is. They have no visceral reaction to socialism. Indeed from videos I've seen of Miami teachers, they are taught that socialism isn't bad and wherever the bad things happened it was because it wasn't "real" socialism.

A lot of radicals are down with the NEW AND IMPROVED "real" socialism, right up to the point where they have a major policy disagreement with it's leadership and find out what happens to dissidents. Notice how the Miami PD dealt with BLM-Antifa attempts to riot in that city. Portland it was not. Even in other places where BLM-Antifa tried their stuff, when they hit Latino neighborhoods a lot of them got confronted by residents who were not having it.  It's hard to pull the lever for the D candidate when you see them support that kind of activity.

Having dealt with policy issues lets move to Trump himself.

Obama compared to Trump is and was quite effeminate. And I'm not trying to insult Obama. But for cultures that admire machismo and manliness, something the US is fast losing in the general sense, this is important. Let me give you an example.

Obama [often] crosses his legs when he sits. Trump does not. As a man I cannot stand to see men cross their legs. I don't find it sophisticated or classy. To me it says my balls are small so I can smash them between my thighs. Men open their legs partly due to our narrower pelvises, which makes it more natural to spread rather than close legs and because we have a package in there. Generally speaking the open legs is a display of sexual capability, machismo and aggressiveness. If you're from a culture that values these things in men, rather than from a culture that denigrates masculinity and calls it "toxic" Trump's "displays" are positive. I noted that in a post back in 2017

Lastly to the issue of the GOP.

I've written in the recent past that the GOP is a dead party walking. In just my lifetime they have allowed 4 red states to turn blue (VA, CO, PA, CO). They are on the cusp of losing GA and TX. Once those two go, no Republican will hold executive office in America until or unless the Dem coalition splits up and/or white Democrats leave the party entirely OR their population drops to such an extent that [ non-Hispanic]white voters become irrelevant.

Every day Republicans die and less than replacement Republicans come of age. On the other side, Old Democrats die and are replaced by young ones AND ones granted citizenship or inherited citizenship via birthright who wants to represent for their parents.

You think if Biden is president and Dems manage to get the amnesty and "path to citizenship" they have been talking about, that the recipients of such largesse won't vote for the party that did that for them? You think their children won't vote for them either?

The GOP is a dead party walking regardless of how this election turns out. A Trump win may slow the process but it's not stopping.

Oh and one more thing. Anyone paying attention knows that most Republicans and so called "conservatives" have positions that were considered "left wing" just 10 years ago.  A Republican transported from say 1970 wouldn't recognize much of what is called the Republican party. To be fair, they wouldn't recognize the Democratic party either. Well they would but they would call them commies.

So that's my take on the Cubanos and Venzuelans in Florida (and elsewhere).

This Is Some Third World BS

So I wake up this morning and find that a winner in the US election has not been announced. This is something unprecedented, at least in my lifetime. I went to look at why this was the case figuring that some west coast state which due to time zone differences were still counting votes due to close races. But no, I see states on the east coast not reporting.

What?

I see announcements from state election officials saying that they won't announce anything and some won't be done for days?

What?

No state east of the Mississippi should be late reporting. There is no excuse for this.

How is Georgia not done (as of 7AM)? How is North Carolina not done? HOW?

I did not care for the whole "voting season" because I find it unconstitutional. Election day is the first Tuesday. Period. We have had "ballot drop boxes" destroyed. We have already had mail delivery persons dumping ballots. I don't care WHO they voted for, this is unacceptable third world bullshit.

We had the person responsible for PA elections declare that Biden had won the state prior to a single election day ballot had been cast. What the entire F*** is that?

We had court decisions where ballots can arrive AFTER election day even without proper postmarks. No ballot validation. I mean how is this the proper conduct for an election? This is open to outright fraud in either direction. This is unacceptable.

We saw the video from Minneapolis where fraudulent ballot collection was busted. You know full well that there are parties that will take advantage of this situation to "find ballots" in order to get the outcome they want. Again, this is unacceptable.

Lastly that the NYT declaring that the "media" is who declares the winner is also indicative of the raw corruption out here. The press doesn't declare or determine the winner. The state electoral departments determine these things. The media REPORTS the outcome. That is all. Even NPR this morning said that the AP has not declared the winner. Who the f*** is the AP? The AP isn't the government body running elections. I don't look to the AP for results. I look to state election officials.

I will repeat my call for real election reform:

Election day should be a national holiday. Ballot casting should be allowed from 12AM to 11:59PM on election day. All voters must have ID. All election material should be in English and English only. Citizenship requires English proficiency.

Mail in ballots are only for the disabled or others who are physically unable to make it to a balloting location. They must be marked by the day before election day and should be priority delivered to election offices.

Absentee ballots can only be cast by US citizens outside the US and only if they are unable to make it to a US embassy. Military personnel who are out of the country on deployment should be able to vote on whatever base they are assigned to. Those on ships should be able to vote on ship with results sent via secure comms to  election officials.

Everyone else votes on election day if they so choose.

Enough of this third world nonsense.
