The BBC has reported Robertson saying:
On the programme, the 75-year-old preacher responded to a news item about the reaction of Muslims in Europe to the publishing of cartoons satirising the Prophet Muhammad.
The footage showed Muslims screaming "May Allah bomb you! May Osama Bin Laden bomb you!"
Mr Robertson said the pictures "just shows the kind of people we're dealing with. These people are crazed fanatics, and I want to say it now: I believe it's motivated by demonic power. It is satanic and it's time we recognize what we're dealing with".
He went on to say that "Islam is not a religion of peace", and "the goal of Islam, ladies and gentlemen whether you like it or not, is world domination".
Now given that my belief system does not include any such "demon" or Satan," given that Islam and Christianity share the same roots in Ancient Khemet, Robertson is truely "demonising" himself. Surely he doesn't know this though. Also in great contradictory fashion that is common in prosylitizing religions, while we can agree that Islam is meant to dominate the earth, we find this no different than the aims of Christians. It was deemed the white man's burden and mission from the Christian God-head himself that they should Christianize and Civilize the backwards non-white people of the world so that they would know the saving grace of Jesus Christ. If Muslims are being motivated by satan when some of them do evil things, then what does that say about Christians eh?
In my opinion, the entire fault with both Christianity and Islam, as currently practiced and understood, is the fallacious and arrogant notion that they have
"The way" to salvation or the "final message" from God. That kind of ideology, as much as it appeals to many people's need to have a "definitive" answer to certain life (and death) questions is just a bomb waiting to go off. it is a very easy task to take such proclamations and run into violence. Especially when the "Holy Books" of said religions are replete with stories of killing in the name of God.
An interesting psychological side note: It is said that Jesus commanded his diciples to love thier neighbor as they love themselves. Question: If one doesn't love oneself then how can one love one's neighbor? Indeed if one has an entirely messed up concept of love, then the love shown to one's neighbor would be equally messed up.
hmmmmmmmmmm.
